Lots of law firms do litigation. And lots of firms have bankruptcy lawyers. But no other firm integrates these two very specialized practices like ST&G does to provide its clients with a service that is truly cutting-edge.
We don't do insurance defense, we don't do products liability, and we don't do general contract litigation; we just do bankruptcy. And so, when ST&G represents you in bankruptcy-related litigation, your lawyer isn't someone who was working on an anti-trust case last week, and a wrongful termination the week before. At ST&G, you have the experts on your side.
ST&G's lawyers have vast experience in all facets of bankruptcy and bankruptcy-related litigation. From prosecuting a contested plan confirmation to defending fraudulent transfer litigation, and everything in between, we've done it all. ST&G's record in successfully litigating complex bankruptcy issues is unparalleled.
Case in point: In the Hechinger bankruptcy in Delaware, ST&G represented Leonard Green & Partners LLP and Green Equity Investors II, LLP (collectively, "LGP") in a highly complex adversary proceeding that was recently concluded in their favor. In the adversary proceeding, the plaintiff sued LGP and other defendants to recover potentially $600 million transfers that had been made in connection with an LBO. ST&G filed comprehensive summary judgment pleadings, argued the motion, and obtained summary judgment for LGP on all counts before trial. Not only did the summary judgment result in a complete vindication of LGP's positions, it obviated the necessity to go through the three-week jury trial that the plaintiff had sought. The decision of the United States District Court for the District of Delaware in this adversary proceeding is reported at Liquidation Trust of Hechinger Inv. Co. of Del., Inc. v. Fleet Retail Fin. Group (In re Hechinger Inv. Co. of Del., Inc.), 327 B.R. 537 (D. Del. 2005).
