The healthcare industry operates in a complex
and ever-changing legal and regulatory environment. As these changes
occur, they often have a dramatic, and negative, impact on the bottom
line.
We help our healthcare clients manage
change. When Congress enacted legislation in 1997 that drastically
altered the Medicare and Medicare reimbursement programs, we were there to
guide our clients through the restructurings that enabled them to stay alive,
and ultimately to thrive.

the appointment of a patient ombudsman, generally required under the
Bankruptcy Code, (2) resolved complex legal issues with the debtor's unions
following a year of litigation, (3) protected the client from efforts by
its bondholders to force the debtor to provide "adequate
protection", (4) closed the sale of one of the debtor's hospitals,
(5) negotiated and documented the sale of the debtor's remaining hospital
assets and completed a 6 day plan confirmation trial involving myriad
issues pertaining to provisions of the California Government Code, Health
and Safety Code and environmental laws.
