Ms. Pajak's practice is focused primarily on
the representation of creditor and equity committees, as well as operating
debtors and strategic purchasers in chapter 11 cases, in venues throughout the
country. Most recently, she represented the Examiner appointed in the
consolidated bankruptcy cases of Fontainebleau Las Vegas, LLC, et al., who,
with the assistance of ST&G, played a critical role in the sale of
the debtors' assets.
In
addition, Ms. Pajak represents several secured creditors in local bankruptcy
cases that are hotly contested, recently obtaining the dismissal of one of these
cases on behalf of her client. Ms. Pajak
also continues to represent the Ownit Liquidating Trust, which was established
in the bankruptcy case of Ownit Mortgage Solutions, Inc. – the first mortgage
lender to seek bankruptcy protection.
After successfully pursuing several causes of action, the Ownit
Liquidating Trust recently distributed $22.3 million to unsecured creditors.
In addition, she has also represented
creditor committees in USA Capital First Trust Deed Fund, LLC (Las Vegas, NV), O'Sullivan Industries, Inc. (Atlanta,
GA) and Aladdin Gaming, Inc. (Las
Vegas, NV) and was involved in the
representation of the equity committee in Trump Hotel & Casino Resorts (Camden, NJ). She also has an active practice of
representing creditors and debtors both in court and out-of-court
restructurings.
Ms. Pajak is involved in several professional
organizations. At the ABI 2010 Southwest Bankruptcy Conference, Ms. Pajak participated
in a panel discussion titled, "Evolving Ethics:
Fiduciary Duties and Disclosure Issues."
Ms. Pajak attended Douglass
College at Rutgers University,
where she received her B.A. in history (with a minor in economics), with high
honors, in 1995. She then attended Stanford Law
School, where she
received her J.D., with honors, in 2001.
