Mr. Winston is a shareholder of ST&G. He attended the University of California,
Berkeley, graduating in 1995 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, with high
honors, in Political Science. Mr. Winston received his J.D. degree in
1998 from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law.
While attending UCLA, Mr. Winston was a managing editor of the
1997-1998 UCLA Journal of Environmental Law & Policy, and completed
an externship with the United States Department of Justice, Civil
Rights Division. Before beginning his practice with the firm in 1999,
Mr. Winston served as a law clerk to the Honorable William J. Holloway,
Jr., United States Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Winston was
admitted to the State Bar of California in 1999. Mr. Winston's practice
includes all areas of corporate insolvency and reorganization. He was
one of the principal attorneys in the firm's chapter 11 representations
of Edwards Theatres Circuit, Inc. and its affiliates. Mr. Winston's
other recent engagements include representing significant creditors of
Enron Corporation and participating in the out-of-court restructurings
of Huntsman Corporation and Butler Manufacturing Company. In addition,
he has co-authored two articles, "State Defiance of Bankruptcy Law," 52
Vand. L. Rev. 1527 (2000), and "Sizing Up The 'Cap' - Commercial Lease
Rejection Claims In Bankruptcy," 27 Cal. Bankr. J. 209 (2004).
Mr. Winston has appeared on several corporate insolvency panels, and
has guest lectured bankruptcy and corporate reorganization classes at
Loyola University and University of Southern California schools of law.
Mr. Winston is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of California, and Los Angeles County Bar Association.
